Ugly Shoes - Crocs

by Kori on July 12th, 2007

If you are watering your lawn, digging in your garden or a kid at the beach, maybe you can get away with wearing Crocs. But last week, I was at a restaurant (and not a dive, mind you) and a 20-something year old woman was wearing these with white capri pants and a knit top.

Oh my!

Purple Crocs

If you are going to wear ugly, do me a favor and keep it in your own backyard!

And I thought that I was the only one who thought that they were… horrible. For gardening, not so bad because I have wiped out more than a few pairs of cloth covered flip flops thanks to watering the garden, but that is about it.

God I could not even begin to tell you how I loathe those things! What’s worse are the decorative buttons some people have on theirs. Ack. Not good, not cute not ever fashionable! ;)

i don’t like them either..a lot of fashionistas here in the philippines claim that they’re uber cool..they’re unflattering..even the prima crocs(well, which i thought was cute) was unflattering…their sizes were either too big or too small….and they smell yeah..so rubbery…haha…

Star–I was watching Oprah sometime this year and she had the lady on who made those buttons…i think she called them ‘gems’. Anyway, she used to make them for all her daughter’s friends and may have had a website selling them. Somehow, the Croc people got wind of it and bought her out for millions.

Why can’t I think of something like that? heh.

I think it’s called “jibbets” or something. I know it starts with J. I have a pink pair that my husband bought me to wear around the house and that’s where it gets it’s mileage :) . It looks cute on kids though. I plan on buying one for my daughter once she starts walking :)

Thank you for mentioning how ugly these are!! I wear them in my yard, by the pool and around the house. They are comfy but I will not wear them out to dinner. My kids do love them and they are great for young kids but an adult wearing them with capris(and I have seen many) looks foolish!
