My mom is one of the most self-sacrificing people you will ever meet! She loves her family despite our many faults and willingly puts her own desires aside to care for us!

Do you REALLY want to know about my shoes? I own two pair. My sneakers which I wear all the time and a pair of black pumps that I wear on special occassions (job interviews or wakes… sigh…). I THINK I still own the beige pumps I got married in but I’m sure my fat little feet won’t fit in them anymore.

I think I’m missing that girly “shoe” gene. I like shoes… don’t get me wrong. I guess it’s because our family lives on one paycheck and I can’t really think about things like a great pair of shoes for myself. It’s all about the kids you know. If they need shoes… mom doesn’t get any. So I’ll just wear my sneakers until they fall off my feet and then give in a buy myself a new pair. But you know what…. there are times I think to myself it would be cool to get dolled up and dressed to the nines and wear a pair of HEELS! I haven’t worn heels since my senior prom… which was in 86′!!!!!!

The other goodies you are offering sound out of this world WONDERFUL!!!!! Thank you for a most generous prize offering!!!!!

Obviously, I could say a ton of things nice about my mom and kids. But, I don’t think I can say much about my shoes! I really don’t buy myself shoes. The shoes I wear are from before my kids were born! LOL
I would love to be in this giveaway!

My mother is such an inspiration to me. She’s been through so much and has been optimistic through it all. Even when things are at their worst she still helps others through what they need. She is the best mom anyone could ever have!

Ohhh I’m scared to share the dark secret about my shoes! I’ve worn the same pair of nasty old sneakers since I was 21(my 26′th b-day is just around the bend!). Seriously, I have no other shoes(assuming flip flops don’t count!). I HAD other shoes, but they no longer fit my style once kids came along, and then I just never got around to getting new ones. EEK! I know, terrifying. Needless to say, I could really use some pampering!

The thing I absolutely love most about my mom is that she is so fun and full of laughter. Well, that, and the fact that she loves me and my kids to pieces.

My kids are fabulous, my shoes not so much! So proud of my little ones this year, my 5th grader is an all A student this year and my K, and 1st graders have worked so hard this year. My shoes have also worked hard this year and could stand to be replaced!

My mom is the greatest! She works really hard to make her home nice, and she has so much patience with me and the rest of my siblings. I have always (with the exception of ages 13-16!) been so grateful to have her as a mother.

I came from a long line of strong women. My great grandmother brought her family from Hungary to live in America and escape the holocaust. My great grandfather died at an early age and she supported the family by working in sweatshops. My grandmother worked in the sweatshops too from an early age. When I was a kid she had a toy and card store. We got the broken boxed toys, but didn’t mind one bit. It was a treat. My parents were college educated but poor, and as we grew up and moved out things got better for them. My mother was a college professor, and then did Adult Education web designer. At the age of 70, she finally decided to retire. She hasn’t stopped. She volunteers, she belongs to hiking groups, she travels and visits family and exercises every day. She’s the ultimate role model. I hope my kids grow up strong like she is.

    What an incredible giveaway! Wowza!

I’ve always wanted to be a mom, and while having our first child came easily, it took 7 years to get pregnant with the second. I’d love to have more, but my body simply can’t handle it. I cherish each and every day with my kids. They are my life.

I don’t get to see my mom that often, because I’m at a college over 1,000 miles away from home and can only afford to visit every 5 months or so…but I miss my mom dearly and I mourn the loss of just being near her. I can tell she’s trying to keep herself composed every time we talk on the phone. I want her know that I love her more than anything!

My mom is the most precious woman I know… she birthed 8 children (yup, 8).. homeschooled us all, and is now going to be fostering a handicapped child from Russia starting in June. My kids are my favorite things in the world! And my shoes…. well…. my hubby once asked what was wrong with the shoe gallery in my closet when I suggested to my sister that we go to Shoe Gallery and look around. :)

Well, my Mom is awesome. Now that I’m in my forties I’ve realized what a smart woman she actually is. . . since I have three daughters in their teens who think I’m pretty dumb (only sometimes, mostly we’re on good terms) and one who is a preteen. . . I’ve realized that Mom will always worry about me more than I worry about me, as I will always worry about and love my daughters more than they worry about and love themselves.

My mommy is awesome. She wasn’t too keen on Play-Doh, but she didn’t mind paint. She didn’t even kill me when I used my crayons on the carpet. On purpose. And my parents had to replace the whole carpet.

Now that I’m a bonafide grown-up, I love her even more because I can finally see the wisdom behind all the rules, discipline, curfews, etc. She’s a good friend now, in addition to always being my mom.

My mom epitomized in 1 story:
My mom’s friend is sick with cancer so my mom takes her cat to the vet b/c it needed to be dematted and given its shots. Ok, taking my OWN cat to the vet is my least favorite thing to do in the world besides going to the dentist, just shows you what kind of person she is. She is rad, and I hope she rubs off on me even more. I need more mom in me!!!

  • Lesha
    Apr 24, 2008 at 1:30 am

There’s nothing more precious than my mother’s love. She deserves and earns the title, “Mother”.

She’s always put her children first. She gives us time, attention and unconditional love. She talks to us, try to teach and listens as well.

My mom continues to encourage me to do my best in life, shows me love, gives me information, direction, inspiration and hope.
She is my confidante, the only one who is honest and loving enough to tell me when I’m right and when I’m wrong.

Mom takes care of all those around her while many times denying herself. I appreciate the sacrifices, recognize the
selflessness, salute the dedication and reassurance that is my mother.

She has confronted life with many obstacles and has never given up the fight. But in mom’s case, her strength has always come from God. Even when my mother is in pain or having problems, she continues to moves through life’s rocky roads.

She is a truly inspirational mother and grandmother.

This is a great prize pack! Very cool.

As for my mom, I love to talk about her… she is super mom! She used to wake me up in the mornings for school (I never had an alarm), draw my bath, have breakfast cooked for us (blueberry pancakes, blueberry muffins, eggs, or oatmeal, etc) and THEN, she also worked full-time and did almost all the housework too. She would also stay up late helping me with homework, make awesome dinners for us all, etc. She is amazing!! I love her and hope to be half as good a mom as she was.

My mom is wonderful. Though we live over 3,000 miles apart and I only get to see her once every two or three years, she still is great at keeping in touch, dropping me little notes or cards, and sending thoughtful gifts in the mail. I love the personal touches that she adds to packages, like a few of my favourite chocolate bars from back home, a new pair of pajamas, or whatever.

Well on any given day, I have to admit I wear Crocs (which my husband tells me aren’t actually shoes!), however those just don’t work for weddings and funerals, so the $50 to Heels.com may just get me some appropriate “shoes” for those occassions — thanks for the chance.

This is an amazing prize package! I’d love a chance to win. I can’t remember the last time I pampered myself with anything resembling anything on the prize list.

My children have taught me the best lessons I’ve learned, helping me grow up and put others first. They are wonderful blessings and I am excited to meet our 5th baby this fall.

As for my shoes, I’ve been faithfully watching What Not to Wear for several years, so I do have a few pairs of Stacy-and-Clinton-approved shoes, but our money usually goes elsewhere. I promise that if I win, I’ll pick ones that Stacy & Clinton would approve of! :-)

I have a shoe story! I was going to the Juno Awards this year for the first time and wanted to have something nice to wear for the parties. I found a dress in about 10 minutes, but it took me 3 hours to find a comfortable pair of heels to match - trendy, comfy, easy to walk in.

Now, after 3 days of standing most days taking photos, it comes time to wear the dress. And my feet were so swollen I couldn’t wear the shoes!! How sucky is that?!

    *faints*
    I want this so bad!

Ok.. I’ll write about all of those topics.

Mom- I’m adopted. My mother is an ex-nun and adopted me when I was 2.5 years old. My father and her raised three of us adopted children and did their best to give us all the greatest opportunity. I was blessed.

Children- I have six of them, and I love every moment of it. I will adopt more one day, and probably have a few more of my own. I adore them each for their gifts and can’t wait to see what kind of adults they will be.

Shoes- I’ve just gotten out of the “mommy” mode and finally hit the “I’m hot, look at my heels” mode. I’m lovin’ every moment of it! Even though in heels I’m 6 feet tall, I look good doin’ it!!

So.. there.. if I get picked.. I’ll cry.. alot! :)

I would love to win since I only own 3 pairs of shoes and they consist of 1 pair of sneakers, 1 pair of dress shoes, and one pair of sandals. My mom I love her very much. When I was growing up she made sure us kids came first and she always put herself last. To this day she still makes sure her kids come first even with us all moved away from home. My mom taught me great morals and she would never hate me or my siblings no matter what we do in life. My kids are wonderful! I have a 2 year old and a 8 year old who keep me busy.

Daughter is in college in another state but we’re on the phone several times every day.

I’ll give you a nice comment about Moms, shoes AND kids…

When we were little my mom had a dress up corner for us in our basement play room. They had old clothes from the 50’s and lots of shoes but my favorite were a pair of point, red, shiny patented leather pumps. My sisters and I used to fight over those like you wouldn’t believe. There was also a pair of green suede pumps - we loved them. My mom still has lots of shoes, but now she lets the grandkids dress up. I almost wish I had a daughter to share these things with.

I can’t even tell you how desperately I need new shoes. Half of what I have doesn’t even fit me anymore (thank you, pregnancy…), and the other half is in a pretty sad state. What Not To Wear would make me throw them out for the condition they’re in!

I also have something child AND shoe related: My son, starting at the ripe old age of 6 months, became obsessed with shoes. At least once a day I would catch him with shoes on his hands as he was crawling around. And as he started walking, he took a liking to his older sister’s shoes, especially the dressy kind, and would wear them all over the house. In fact, he’s always appreciated pretty shoes more than his sister!

Mom loves shoes but has to be very careful as to which ones she wears now as an insert has to fit in the shoes.

Me on the other hand love shoes but just don’t buy them much as I seem to spend more money on my son as his feet are growing like weeds.

What a wonderful giveaway you are doing here.
